Honiton Carers enjoyed another Burn’s Night celebration at Gittisham Village Hall and as usual we had a fabulous evening, with the customary Haggis, Mashed Potatoes and Swedes, followed by a trio of tray bakes served with Ice cream. The food was as usual absolutely delicious and plentiful with second helpings of both courses to the ones who could manage. A well stocked raffle followed, with Win’s ticket coming out of the hat first, several carers’ tickets followed suit. We definitely took a large percentage of the lovely prizes home with us.

Mary Marker followed on with calling to some lively folk dancing music, we were on the floor instantly hoping to dance off some of the huge dinner we had just consumed. She kept us on the floor until 11pm, when the evening finished and we all went home absolutely shattered but very happy having enjoyed a wonderful evening with lots of fun and some brilliant company, making new friends along the way. Some of our carers even decided to enrol in the Wednesday folk dancing club, which is held at the Gittisham Village Hall every Wednesday evening throughout the year, except for a couple of months mid-summer.
