Celebrating Carers Week 2024

10th – 16th June 2024

Honiton Carers are celebrating Carers Week in style, starting off today Wednesday 12th June with a visit from Emma from Ferne Animal Sanctuary who gave a brilliant presentation on what they all do at the Sanctuary. A very interesting and inspirational talk, much enjoyed by everyone.

East Devon Crematorium kindly donated a hamper which was drawn today and won by Carer Christine Goodwill who was naturally delighted with her lovely prize

We will continue to celebrate carers week on Friday 14th June when we pay a visit to Seaton Tramway. Carers go free on production of their ID cards/Passport card during Carers Week even without their cared for.

On Saturday 15th June we are at our local Co-op store all day bringing awareness to the community about unpaid carers and the support available to them. There is plenty of support available it is just knowing where to go in the first place. Honiton Carers are here to help with that.

We spent a lovely day at the Co-op in Lace Walk fundraising and bringing awareness of unpaid carers to the community. #ItsWhatWeDo. We raised the incredible amount of £335.90 and would like to thank the community for their wonderful support. We would also like to thank the staff at the Co-op for being so very welcoming EVERY time we visit the store. Your ongoing support is very much appreciated.
Thank you also to all our volunteers for giving their time on a Saturday, you are all stars. We will be back at the Co-op on Carers’ Right Day on 23rd November and hope to see you all then.
