What a lovely day we spent at the Co-op yesterday on the shortest day of the year. We met so many lovely friends we have not seen for ages and spoke with so many carers, ex-carers and families struggling with looking after loved ones. As expected it was nice and steady and people were in a festive mood despite the awful weather again
We received some very generous donations and we would like to sincerely thank the community for supporting us yet again and for sharing their stories with us.
We would also like to thank our wonderful volunteers for giving up an hour or more on the Saturday before Christmas which is so precious to us all, to help us raise awareness in the community. We really appreciate your support.
The lovely hamper with all the items donated by the carers themselves was drawn at 6pm at the Co-op by staff member Simon Saunders the winning number was 91 and chosen by Heidi Radford which was one happy lady when I delivered the hamper to her her later last night. I sincerely hope Heidi and her family enjoy the contents during the festive season and beyond. Honiton Carers will be back at the Co-op next year all being well and we would like to thank Gary the Co-op Manager and all the staff, who are always so very welcoming and good to us, for their ongoing support and for putting up with us all day.
