Great session at The Methodist Church today with Bob Selway who did a lovely Woodturning presentation. He made a beautiful wooden bowl of ash, which was later raffled and won by Carole Sexton, who was delighted. Bob interacted with the carers throughout the whole presentation explaining what he was doing and why, he even explained what his tools were called and what they did. He made it a very interactive and interesting afternoon, which was much enjoyed by all the attendants. The carers much to their delight were later allowed to take the sawdust home for their gardens.
Val Sheen from the Charter Day committee also visited and gave a quick talk about Charter day and how it came about. She mentioned this year’s theme is sports and talked a bit about the forthcoming programme too. Honiton Carers have been chosen as the Charter Day charity of the year, which we needless to say are extremely grateful for.
